This framed cabin is located at campsite #1 within the Granite Tors Campground at mile 39.5 Chena Hot Springs Road. Amenities include a woodstove, small table, kitchen counter, bunk beds and a sleeping platform, and is wired for electricity. Guests will need to provide their own firewood and generator. The generator plug in requires a double male cord. Please help keep it neat and attractive for those who will use it after your visit.

Location:
The turn off for Granite Tors Campground is located at mile 39.5 Chena Hot Springs Road, approximately 50 miles northeast of Fairbanks. Turn left at the campground and trailhead. Follow the campground access road. The cabin will be located on the left-hand side at campsite #1. The cabin provides great access to the Chena Hot Springs Winter Trail also known as the Yukon Quest Trail which passes the rock quarry just north of the cabin. Across the highway folks can hike the 15 mile Granite Tors Trail.

This cabin has a combination lock on the door. Once you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Reserve America with important information about the cabin, including a combination for the door lock. Print out this confirmation e-mail and bring it with you to the cabin. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours of making the reservation, please contact the DNR Public Information Center at (907) 269-8400.

Remember that these cabins are not hotels. Always be prepared! Be sure to bring:

  • Sleeping bag and pad or air mattress
  • Food
  • Cookware, dishes, utensils
  • Cooking stove and fuel
  • Matches, lighters, paper fire starter
  • 9-volt battery for smoke detectors
  • First aid items
  • Plastic trash bags
  • Jug of water
  • Saw or ax, just in case
  • Firewood
  • Flashlight
  • Lantern and fuel
